Enjoy the Day

little black dress, scarf, sandals

Target Dress (here)

Shopko Sandals (similar)

I wore this over the weekend to do some thrifting and hit up the MSU Dairy Store with my husband. School starts in a few short weeks and we're trying to hit up all of our favorite places around MSU before the students come back. We're old and enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts. Another one of our favorite places is the horticultural gardens. It's lovely in the summer, the perfect place to take a long walk and enjoy the day.

I wore this last week and completely forgot we took pictures! So here you go.

I had a busy week full of VBS. We had over 100 kids there and it was cah-razy. I came home exhausted everyday, but it was so fun. Kids are silly.

How was your week?

Old Junk

patterned top, scarf, polka dot jeans, flats

Thrifted Top (similar style)
Walmart Scarf (similar)
Gap Jeans (similar)
Payless Flats (similar)

I wore this to do some antiquing earlier this week. We didn't realize until recently that one of the towns a mere 20 minutes from us has some serious antiquing. Like...there's 9 shops there. NINE. It's insane and we spent a very happy afternoon perusing old junk, coffee in hand. And we will definitely be going back.

Happy Friday.

July in Review

Summer, you are flying by. Here's what went down in July:

July Buys
Thrifted Tops; Pendant via Antique Mall (for sale on Etsy here)
Total: $15

July left us a little lacking in the extra money department, and what we did have we spent on fun things like a camping trip and ice cream dates. I've also been feeling like I have plenty of clothes in my closet at present, and very little need to buy more. I absolutely could not pass up this pendant though. Jeremy and I went antiquing a few days ago and I spotted these map necklaces. I even found one with the area I grew up in!

The Nesting Place - I LOVED THIS! Go read it now.

XES - Another good one. I wish it would have been formatted a bit differently, but full of goodness nontheless.

I also re-read The Hunger Games.

-We took an awesome and relaxing camping trip to Tecumseh this month. We hadn't been camping in 2 years so another trip was long overdue.
-The weather has been SO NICE. There are many around me complaining about the cold summer but I'm soaking it right up.
-We sold one car and bought a new one. The whole thing was quick and easy and we couldn't be happier.

How was your July?

This is one of those looks where you just throw the proportions to the wind and let comfort reign. I know this makes me look short. I don't care.

Happy weekend.
