Guess what? I finally got around to putting a lining in the top of this dress. Now I can wear it without having to worry about wearing another layer either under or over it to cover my undergarments. Hooray! I decided to style my new and improved dress very simply for a trip to the library. There are something like 10 or 12 branches of our district library here...all of which we now have access to with our fancy new library cards. I'm super excited to be able to do more reading this summer..for free!! A big thing that prevents me from trying out new books is the cost. Although having a kindle does make things cheaper, costs still add up fast. And since we are cheap, cheap, cheap, it makes me really happy to be able to save money this way.

Hope your week has been wonderful so far!

I used to be very anti-seasonal clothes.  I wanted my wardrobe to be as versatile as possible, and with the exception of sweaters and shorts, I wanted everything I owned to be wearable year round.  But last fall I decided to put away a few of my skirts and dresses for the winter that were more summery. I am now really glad that I did. Pulling this skirt and all the others out of storage a few weeks ago was like Christmas. I instantly felt refreshed by these "new" clothes and re-inspired to shop my own closet.

So go ahead and put away those winter sweaters, long sleeved dresses, and whatever else feels wintery to you in your wardrobe. I gladly did, and now I can't wait to rediscover those pieces come fall!

A new thrift store opened in our town this week and I donned this fun outfit to check it out.  I picked up a couple pairs of shorts, and necklace, and a few adorable books for my nephew.  It's a great little shop, and even better yet, it's right next door to my favorite thrift store, Volunteers of America!  It's like my own little corner of thrifting heaven.

On a completely different note, how terrible is it that The Office is ending?! The series finale is this week and I am probably going to cry.  At least I still have Parks and Rec...

Hope you're having a fabulous Sunday!

I've been craving loose and comfortable layers this week. Maxi skirts, tee shirts, tunics... also: sandals.  It feels great to let my toes feel the cool breeze again.

Not much else to report...we're still house hunting, the weather is still great, and I have next week off work!  Hope your week is great so far! :-)

Oh how fast the weather changes.  I wore this exactly two weeks ago and can't imagine wearing two 3/4 sleeve layers today.  I actually put this yellow top away for the season late last week...it's far too warm for it now!

So last week I finally got around to cleaning and organizing our second bedroom.  It's been a mess almost as long as we've lived here, so it was great to clean it out!  I found the rest of my cookbooks, old clothes I had intended to donate last fall, and some neat old books I forgot we had.  Best of all, we now have room in there for our bed!  This is great because our upstairs neighbors have been leaving their TV on all. night. long. every night for the last 6 weeks.  And their TV is in their bedroom....which is directly above our bedroom.  We've put in a few complaints, but it hasn't made a bit of difference.  But now that our bed is moved, we don't have to suffer through it anymore! We also don't wake up to the sounds of doors slamming at 3am as they come home from work.  Yayayay!  I love sleep. :-)
