We've had nothing but rain here this week, so here's an outfit from a week or so ago that never got posted. I wasn't a huge fan of the photos...I think this would have done better without the cardi. But I love this dress. It's so comfortable and I'm sure it will make many more appearances this summer.

Not much else to report...we looked at a house earlier this week that we like but it needs some work done so we're still thinking on it. It's not what I would call the perfect house. It's small, not much bigger than our current apartment. And it needs work. And the type of financing it requires would pretty much suck our bank account dry. BUT, it's the only house we've found in our budget that meets our criteria in a month of looking. So with all that plus a few other factors, it's kind of been consuming my thoughts this week. Decisions, decisions...

Anyhow...I hope you all enjoy your weekend! :-)

Parking garage photos. Am I a city blogger now? Naw...although it was a lot of fun to have all that space to ourselves to take photos in...

I started out this week feeling really good, which hasn't happened in a very long time. I have been the queen of moodiness the last few months. I think it's a combination of lack of sleep (see: crazy loud neighbors) and the cold. I usually cope just fine with months of clouds, snow, and cold weather, but this last winter hit me hard. I haven't been happy living in the city, I've been worried about money and jobs and health insurance, and this past winter just amplified it all.

I'm finally starting to feel more content here. It took a long time (at least it felt like it) to make friends in our large church, but I'm finally to the point where I see someone I know every Sunday, which is wonderful. We're looking for a house and have high hopes of getting out of the city before the summer is over. Jeremy and I both have steady work and health insurance. I also started taking some vitamin D a few weeks ago and that has made a huge difference in my mood. Who knew that was something you actually needed...?

So here's to a new week. May yours be amazing. :-)

Yesterday we grabbed the dog, got lunch to go, and headed out to a local park we'd never been to before. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees, and the sunshine was beautiful. Our dear dog was in heaven. He LOVES to be outside, but hardly ever gets the chance to be out super long. It was a great day for all involved and I can't wait to do it again. :-)

Hope your weekend was wonderful too!

Old Navy Sandals, $6 after $15 gift card (same sandal, different colors)

Guess what? I finally got around to putting a lining in the top of this dress. Now I can wear it without having to worry about wearing another layer either under or over it to cover my undergarments. Hooray! I decided to style my new and improved dress very simply for a trip to the library. There are something like 10 or 12 branches of our district library here...all of which we now have access to with our fancy new library cards. I'm super excited to be able to do more reading this summer..for free!! A big thing that prevents me from trying out new books is the cost. Although having a kindle does make things cheaper, costs still add up fast. And since we are cheap, cheap, cheap, it makes me really happy to be able to save money this way.

Hope your week has been wonderful so far!

I used to be very anti-seasonal clothes.  I wanted my wardrobe to be as versatile as possible, and with the exception of sweaters and shorts, I wanted everything I owned to be wearable year round.  But last fall I decided to put away a few of my skirts and dresses for the winter that were more summery. I am now really glad that I did. Pulling this skirt and all the others out of storage a few weeks ago was like Christmas. I instantly felt refreshed by these "new" clothes and re-inspired to shop my own closet.

So go ahead and put away those winter sweaters, long sleeved dresses, and whatever else feels wintery to you in your wardrobe. I gladly did, and now I can't wait to rediscover those pieces come fall!
